安上がりに英語力をUPする必殺技　何度も同じ映画のシーンを繰り返し聞く

暫く書いて無かった「安上がりに英語力をUPする必殺技」を続けたいと思います。

以前は古典を原書で読む方法として先ず映画化された映画を観てしまうという方法を紹介しました。

そこで今日は趣向を変えて１９７０年代の映画を紹介します。

『Melody』は日本では『小さな恋のメロディ』という邦題で公開されましたが、英国では『S.W.A.L.K.』というタイトルで封切られました。

S.W.A.L.K.とはSealed With A Loving Kiss（愛のキスをこめて）の略です。これは当時の英国の小中学生の間で流行った表現だそうです。

『Melody』はジャック・ワイルド（オーンショウ役）、マーク・レスター（ダニエル・ラティマー役）、トレーシー・ハイド（メロディ・パーキンス役）が出演しています。

この映画を今観直して感じることは当時のスカートの丈がものすごく短かったという事です。

それと当時のイギリスは長く経済の低迷が続いたので廃墟のような荒廃した光景があちこちに散見されることに驚かされます。

それでも生徒たちのエネルギーは相当なものですね。

M: He did not last too much after she died.

D: He must have loved her very much.

M: Fifty years happiness. How much is fifty years?

D: A Hundred and fifty school terms, not including holidays.

M: Will you love me that long?

M: I don’t think you will.

D: Of course, I have loved you a whole week already, haven’t I?
