しばらくご無沙汰していた「安上がりに英語力をUPする必殺技」を続けます。

前回は『小さな恋のメロディ』で勉強したのが最後だったと思うので、今度も同じ１９７０年代の青春映画、『リトル・ロマンス（A Little Romance）』に挑戦します。

この映画の主な登場人物は男の子がダニエル（セロニアス・バーナード）、女の子がローレン（ダイアン・レイン）、ベンチに腰掛けた黒いスーツを着た老人がジュリアス（ローレンス・オリビエ）です。

冒頭ではローレンのお母さんのケイ・キング（サリー・ケラーマン）とお父さんの
リチャード・キング（アーサー・ヒル）がチョッと登場します。

下は映画のラストシーンです。



Kay King: Oh my god!
Richard King: Get in the car, Kate.
Kay: But, you see who is there!
Richard: Get in the car.

Richard: Go ahead!

Daniel Michon: Nice car.
Lauren King: We have a lot of luggage. The furniture is going to be sent on later. This is my address in Houston. I will write every day. Well, probably not every day. I don’t want you getting sick of me.
Daniel: It may be a while before we see each other again.
Lauren: I know. But, then it will be like anybody else. We will lose our lead. I will come to Paris with someone in college.
Daniel: No. I don’t want you to be like everybody else. I don’t want to be like everybody else. We are not now, and I hope we never will be. We are different. I’m glad.

Richard: Lauren!

Lauren: And we will be exceptionally gifted and remain true to each other. We will remember every detail, everything that had happened since we’ve met, OK?
Daniel: Call me Bogey.
Lauren: I forgot what I said.
Daniel: You said “Why?” and I said…
Lauren: Because they belong together.


なお、この映画はパリに駐在するアメリカ人一家の女の子（ローレン）が、現地の男の子（ダニエル）と恋に落ちるという設定なので、ダニエルの方はフランス人の訛りがある英語になっています。その他は、アメリカ英語です。
